Where to find plant proteinsWhen we stop eating meat or reduce their consumption the first question is where to find plant proteins and whether these are sufficient.

The word protein comes from a Greek word meaning “first”, “first importance.” They are very abundant molecules in living organisms, constituting about 50% of the dry weight of cells.

The WHO (World Health Organisation) stated in their studies that the developed world consumes more than twice the required daily protein requirements. Meanwhile, the Third World suffers an alarming lack of protein. On the other hand, even the WHO recommends a ratio of only 25% of animal protein and 75% of vegetable protein in our diet.

What are proteins?
Proteins are one of three essential components of nutrition with lipids (fats) and carbohydrates (sugar).
